The 11th of sept.'s terrorist attacks were by the Islamic terrorist's group,the al-Qaeda's suicide series of outrages against the USA.

It happened on a Tuesday morning.

More than 6000 people got injured and 2976 people + the 19 hijackers died.

What happened?

In that morning 19 hijackers got on four american airplanes to drive those into the USA's main buildings.

The World Trade Center

Two airplanes flew into the World Trade Center's twin towers. The buildings caught on fire and crashed within 2 hours.

After cleaning the ruin, the re-buildings began. The One World Trade Center opened November 3rd, 2014. It became the highest building in North America.

Pentagon

The World Trade Center wasn't the only ruined and crashed building.

The 3rd airplane flew into the building of Pentagon in Virginia.

Whithin a year, they fixed the ruins in the town. There is a monument, called Pentagon Memorial.

Shanksville

The 4th airplane was almost driven into the White House, but the passengers stopped it. However they couldn't stop it from the dive. The plane hit the ground next to Shanksville. None of the passengers stayed alive.

The end

As an answer to the terrorist attack the USA launched a war against them. They firstly invaded Afganistan. That's how they tried to catch Talibans, who hid members of al-Qaeda.

Who was Osama bin Laden?

Osama bin Laden was the founder of al-Qaeda. American soldiers killed him in a fire fight.
