Driving in Britain
If you drive in Britain, you will usually find courtesy and understanding from fellow drivers.
However, there are a number of differences that you should be aware of before using the roads. The main difference is that cars travel on the left-hand side of the road and overtake on the right - but there is no automatic priority for cars coming from the left. On roundabouts, priority must always be given to cars coming from the right. At junctions, a broken line on the roadway indicates that you should wait and give way to traffic on the other road.
Parking
In the centres of many towns, parking on the street is allowed only at meters, on payment. There are also fee paying multi-storey car parks.Yellow lines along the edge of the road will tell you of any restrictions to parking. You cannot park on double yellow lines at any time. You can park on single yellow lines, but only outside the times specified on signs near the kerb.
If you break these rules, you will have to pay a fine.
In Emergencies
If you car breaks down, get out of the way of passing traffic and call for assistance.
If you are involved in an accident that causes injury to any person, you must stop.Use the nearest telephone to call the police and other emergency services.
If you cause damage to any other vehicle, you must stop and, on request, give your name and address to the other driver. If you do not give this information at the time, you must report the accident to the police within 24 hours.
Köszönöm. ;)
