Ősi község Veszprém megyében, a Várpalotai kistérségben.A falu északról Várpalotával, keletről Nádasdladánnyal, délnyugatról Berhidával határos. Határainak északi harmadát a hajdani Sárrét tőzeges része alkotja, dél felé A falu legközelebbi jelentősebb fordulópontját a második világháború hozta, mikor a terepviszonyok miatt jelentős katonai célponttá vált. A település ekkoriban naponta többször is gazdát váltott a két fél között és jelentősen megrongálódott. Az 1950-es években a falu újjáépült, és az emberek visszatelepedtek. Az 1960-as években épültek a falu új útjai, iskolái és óvodája. Az 1990-es években jelentős fejlesztések történtek a falu életében: az iskolát kibővítették és odaköltöztették az óvodát, valamint szennyvízcsatorna is épült a faluban.enyhén dombos, foltokban szőlő, szántóföld és ligetes erdő borítja.

It's first notable turning point was brought by the World War II,when the lie of the land became an important military target. That time the village changed it's owner among the two sides day by day,and it has been damaged seriously. In the 1950s,the village was reconstructed and people came to move back.The new roads,schools and kindergartens of the village were built in the 1960s. In the 1990s, momentous developments appeared in the village's life: the school has been expanded and the kindergarten was moved to it,as well as a sewage canal was built in the village.
