A honfoglaló magyarok 900 táján jutottak ide. 1873-ban az önálló három várost, Pestet, Budát, és Óbudát Budapest néven egyesítették. A mai Budapest a 19. század utolsó harmadában és a 20. században lett világvárossá.

Between the present area of the city the first known settlement is Aquincum, which is
founded by the celtas, but had known in its latin name. In the roman ages, Aquincum was the
residence of province of Alsó-Pannónia. The ancestors of hungarians reached the area about
900.
In 1873 the three separated city was united. The present Budapest was become world capital
in the last part of the 19th century and in the 20th century.
