Home (EU/EEA) students
The home tuition fee for a one year advanced course is £1,250 and £980 for a non-advanced course.
If you are a citizen of an EU country or EEA area, course fees will be the same as for home students and will normally be paid for in line with the conditions below. You can complete an application to have your fees paid on arrival to the College, however if you later withdraw from the course you will have to repay the full fee or a pro-rata fee depending on circumstances.
Full time advanced level courses
All full time students undertaking HNC/HND courses who have been ordinarily resident in the European Economic Area for the past 3 years prior to their course start, but have not been ordinarily resident in the UK and Islands are eligible to apply to the Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS) for payment of their tuition fees.
All students who wish to apply for payment of tuition fees must make an application to the SAAS as soon as they arrive at the College. Students who do not apply to SAAS will be required to pay their tuition fees in full. In addition, students who withdraw from their course prior to 1 December may not qualify for payment of fees from SAAS and will be required to pay the full fee themselves.
If your main reason for coming to Scotland from an EU country is to study, SAAS will pay your tuition fees only and therefore you will not normally be eligible for a bursary or any other kind of financial support.
To apply for payment of EU tuition fees only, you must meet the following conditions:
1. You are a non-UK EU national, an EU overseas territories national or the family member of either.
2. You have been ordinarily resident in the EU, the EU overseas territories, elsewhere in the EEA or Switzerland for the three years immediately before the first day of the first academic year of your course.
3. You are taking a course of full time study in Scotland and plan to graduate in Scotland.
For the majority of students who start a course in the autumn term the ‘relevant date’ is 1 August.
SAAS will then pay your tuition fees directly to the College. Your application for SAAS to pay your tuition fees is only valid for one academic session, so you must make sure you apply every year.
SAAS may not pay your tuition fees if you have done a course of higher education before, or if you have to repeat a year of your course. However, SAAS can make an exception if you have to repeat a year because of medical or compassionate reasons.
Please see www.saas.gov.uk for the most up to date information.
Full time non-advanced level courses
All full time students undertaking courses below HNC level (18 weeks plus) who have been ordinarily resident in the European Economic Area for the past 3 years prior to 24 August 2009 but have not been ordinarily resident in the UK and Islands are eligible to apply to have their tuition fees waived (this also applies to examination fees). All students who wish to apply for a ‘fee waiver’ should complete a College course application form prior to the start of their course and enrolment form upon commencement of their course at the College.
