I was walking home...

I ran to the river and saw a woman...

I swam to shore and called the ambulance.

They arrived quicky

One day, I was walking home, when I heard a scream.

I was running towards the distressed sound and I saw a woman struggling in the river.

She was shouting "I can't swim, help"!

I decided I had to try to rescue her. I jumped into the water and started to swim towards her.

Fortunately, I got to her before she went under the water and managed to pull her to the safety of dry land. I called an ambulance because she has swallowed a large amount of water. They arrived quickly, performed the necessary medical procedures and transported her to hospital.

Some days (a few days) later, I visited her. Everybody, the lady, her family and doctor were proud of my selfless act and very grateful to me.

It was a good feeling.

Now I can say that I have saved someone's life.
