Nowadays fewer and fewer films being made in ballet. Fortunately, Darren Aronofsky was directed of a great film that shows American Ballet. The leading actresses are Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis.
The film is set in New York City where follows the story of Nina, a ballerina in a New York City ballet company whose life, like all those in her profession, is completely consumed with dance. When artistic director Thomas Leroy decides to replace prima ballerina Beth MacIntyre for the opening production of their new season, Swan Lake, Nina is his first choice. But Nina has competition: a new dancer, Lily who impresses Leroy as well. Swan Lake requires a dancer who can play both the White Swan with innocence and grace, and the Black Swan, who represents guile and sensuality. Nina fits the White Swan role perfectly but Lily is the personification of the Black Swan. As the two young dancers expand their rivalry into a twisted friendship, Nina begins to get more in touch with her dark side with a recklessness that threatens to destroy her.
Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis are both very talented actors and give a brilliant performance. The film's breathtaking choreography and and incredible history fascinates everyone. I think this is one of the best dance film ever. This film gives insight into the ballet cruel and painful world.
Black Swan has it all: Lot’s of music,briliant choreography, astounding story,drama and romance. It’s definitely worth seeing. So i hope you like and chack it.
