Ezt nem értem: Ha azt akarod mondani, hogy béka formája volt az kocsonyának.

They looked at the aspic what had frog shape

Vagy ha azt akarod, hogy béka volt a kocsonyában.

They looked at the aspic and there was a frog in that.

vagy ha azt akarod mondani, hogy egy béka szájában volt éppen a kocsonya

They looked at the aspic whics was in the frog's mouth.

->NEM. Rendszeres tevékenységről van szó (sometimes), hogy lehetne már Perfect???

Viszont az, hogy a kérd. döntse el, hogy egy mondaton belül egységesen jelent vagy múltat használ, és ne keverje a két időt itt, jogos.

Tehát vagy:

Sometimes when I visit my grandmother, she tells me about what life was like when she was younger.

vagy:

2.

Sometimes when I visited my grandmother, she told me about what life was like when she was younger.

Én személy szerint a jelen időt javasolnám, kivéve, ha nem él már a nagymamád.

Fontos hangsúlyozni, hogy az angol sokkal kevesebb helyen igényel vesszőt, mmint a magyar. A fenti példákban ezeket korrigáltam, de ezt neked kell idővel megtanulnod, hogy mikor kell, és mikor nem.

"My favourite story is when my grandma was 13 years old, and she visited her best friend."

-> tökéletes.

"..there all day played and Mari ( this was my grandma friend name) invited her to dinner."

helyesen:

(There) they played all day, and Mari (this was my grandma's friend's name) invited her to dinner.

ahogy előző már mondta.

("invited her to dinner"-t jól írtad, ügyes.)

They went into the kitchen and started to eat. VAGY started eating. (Ha van kedved, nézz utána a start + to + ige és start + ige + -ing közötti különbségnek, még hasznodra válik.)

"At the time" használata:

nem kényszerítelek, mert végül is elmegy, de mit akarsz mondani? higyan fordítanád magyarra?

"at the/that time" általában olyankor használatos, amikor egy korábbi eseményre utalunk vissza:

I met Dániel Zoltán in 1942. At the time, I didn't suspect that he was an imperialist spy.

1942-ben ismertem meg Dániel Zoltánt. AKKOR MÉG nem sejtettem, hogy az imperialisták ügynöke.

Ilyen helyzetben inkább olyan szavak ugranának be, mint:

egyszer csak, hirtelen (suddenly, all of a sudden...)

A többire most nem érek rá, maradj 1sőnél.
