Nowadays, the most popular science fields are medicine, molecular

biology and astronomy. But since we discovered we could wipe out

hereditary diseases, genetic engineering is getting more and more

popular. A lot of research is carried out in these fields as we are trying to learn more and more about our universe and we try to find new medicines and cures for deadly diseases and fatal illnesses. These areas of research are very useful because the results help people all over the world.

We are still far from curing hereditary illnesses, so most of the

experiments are carried out on animals.

Despite genetic engineering is gaining popularity faster than ever

before, most researches are still carried out in medicine, because there

are still dozens of diseases we can’t cure . Nuclear and aerospace

engineering is also highly researched. Anybody, who is at least a little

bit interested can find tons of information on the latest invention on

the internet, in science magazines or television programmes. But if you

find it hard to go through pages of scientific information, you can ask

your science teacher, and they will probably be able to explain it to you

in a few sentences.

People nowadays use the internet in almost every part of their lives. They use it for communication, exchanging emails, sending and receiving messages and chatting in different chat rooms, even making friends. For most people, besides a means of communication, it also serves as a great source of information. If there is something you are particularly interested in, all you need to do is to start a search engine and browse a few websites to get what you need. It is also possible to download films, music, videos etc. The internet is becoming more and more popular in the world of business as well. The world wide web offers quick and easy access to every part of the world, so it has opened up the world for us.

Our everyday lives are full of the latest

technological devices. Even at hospitals or at the cinema, you can see

modern devices, which help us live more comfortably. Most inventions

take a lot of time to appear in our everyday life, because usually they

are expensive, and hard to produce. The greatest technical invention

are the mobile phone, computers, and televisions. The invention of the

radio, and satellites was a big milestone. The invention which saved the

most people are probably vaccines or antibiotics. We use a lot of

electrical devices at home, like a dishwasher or a washing machine.

These devices are often referred to as labour saving devices because

they save us time and make our lives easier. I’m sure everybody has a

microwave, a hairdryer amd a toaster at home, making these the most

common electrical devices. I often use my laptop and my phone for

educational purposes, especially nowadays. I also use a lot of electrical

devices in the kitchen to make food. For entertainment purposes I

usually use my TV or my laptop. Before electrical devices were invented, life was a lot harder, and everything took more time. For

example, before washing machines, people had to wash their clothes

by hand, or before telephones, people had to write letters. Personally, I

think the most important electronical device is the mobile phone. I

know it can cause addiction, and it’s harmful to the eyes, but without it,

life would be much harder. You couldn’t make calls, couldn’t write

messages, couldn’t get any info you want on the internet.
